Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of hogum (the “Service”), operated by Hogum(“we”, “us”). By using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What the Service does

hogum produces a passive attack-surface report for a domain, IP address, network, or ASN that you submit. It gathers information from public third-party sources such as certificate transparency logs, DNS, RDAP, routing data, web archives, and Shodan InternetDB, and makes a small number of ordinary requests to the target site itself: a page load over HTTPS, a plain-HTTP request to check for a redirect, a TLS handshake, DNS lookups, and a request for /.well-known/security.txt. The Service does not port-scan, fuzz, brute-force, or otherwise probe a target.

2. Acceptable use

You agree that you will not:

• use a report to gain or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system;
• use the Service in a way that violates any law, or the rights of any third party;
• circumvent rate limits, automate requests to the free web interface, or place undue load on the Service or on the public sources it relies on;
• resell or redistribute reports as a competing service without our written consent;
• interfere with the Service, its infrastructure, or its advertising.

Programmatic access is provided only through the paid API described in section 5.

3. Reports are public and retained

Every report has a URL. Reports are not private: anyone with the link, including search engines, can view a report. A report may be reused for up to ten days when the same target is requested again, and its page may remain available for up to one year. If you own a target and want its report removed, contact us at support@hogum.com.

4. No warranty; informational only

Findings are inferences drawn from third-party data that may be stale, incomplete, or wrong. Grades and scores are heuristics, not audits. The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. Confirm anything material independently before acting on it.

5. Paid API

The programmatic API is priced per request and paid through the x402 protocol in USDC on the Algorand network. Payments are settled on-chain by a third-party facilitator and are final; we cannot reverse a transaction. Prices are shown in the payment challenge for each request and may change without notice. A request that is refused before the paywall (for example, an invalid target) is not charged. You are responsible for the wallet you use and for any network fees not covered by the facilitator.

6. Advertising

The free web interface may display advertising served by third-party networks. We do not control the content of those advertisements, and an advertisement is not an endorsement. How advertising partners handle data is described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hogum will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, however caused. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim and one US dollars.

8. Indemnity

You will indemnify and hold harmless Hogum from any claim, loss, or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your breach of these terms or your use of a report.

9. Changes and termination

We may change, suspend, or discontinue the Service, or any part of it, at any time. We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the current version, and continued use after a change is acceptance of it. We may block access from any client that violates these terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of USA, and any dispute will be heard in its courts, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
